Q One of the reasons that this class is such a joy to teach is that I witness you all really taking the time to slow down and reflect. Exploratory thinking is a valuable skill. Often times, you do not see culture until you are removed from it...however if you slow down enough to truly reflect on self and others, you (general you) can observe culture all around. A couple weeks ago, I challenged you all to explore your thoughts on "What are the Next Steps." You came up with many great ideas on societal and individual levels. As you read through your and your classmates' thoughts, consider...how will I move forward after taking this class? What ways will this course dialogue and materials impact my thoughts, behaviors, and emotions when working with diverse groups and the majority group in my professional career? What goals do I have in providing culturally competent services? How can my thoughts impact my community and society? Based on your discussion, you all suggested the following changes:

Also consider, that you have explored your thinking in an environment that provided safe explorative cross cultural dialogue. How this can be emulated in different counseling based or professional or community settings.
